HP Chromebook Plus With 144Hz Display, Chromebook Plus x360 Launched In The US

HP recently announced a strategic partnership with Google to manufacture Chromebooks in India. In continuation of this collaboration, the brand has now introduced two new Chromebook models to the US market.

Notably, several other PC manufacturers, including Acer, ASUS, and Lenovo, have also unveiled their latest Chromebooks. HP’s latest offerings are the HP Chromebook Plus and the Chromebook Plus x360. As their names suggest, one is a traditional clamshell model, while the other is a versatile 2-in-1 convertible. Let’s delve into the details of these devices.

Specifications and Features of HP Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Plus x360

The HP Chromebook Plus boasts a 15.6-inch display with Full HD (FHD) resolution and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smoother and more immersive viewing experience. It comes equipped with audio enhancements by Bang and Olufsen. Additionally, the device features a 1080p webcam with a privacy shutter and a microphone mute key.

Under the hood, the Chromebook Plus is powered by an Intel Core i3-N305 processor with integrated Intel UHD graphics. It offers 8GB of RAM and is available with storage options of either 128GB or 256GB. The Chromebook Plus claims to provide up to 10 hours of battery life and runs on the latest ChromeOS, offering access to the Google Play Store. Connectivity options on this machine include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, two Type-C ports, a Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Moving on to the HP Chromebook Plus x360, it features a 14-inch display with a WUXGA resolution that supports touch and stylus inputs. The device is equipped with a 360-degree hinge, enabling users to utilize it in various modes. It also sports a 5MP Full HD camera with a privacy shutter and a microphone mute key.

Internally, the HP Chromebook Plus x360 is powered by a 12th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, paired with Intel Iris Xe graphics onboard. It boasts 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and offers storage options of up to 512GB SSD. In terms of software, the device runs on ChromeOS and is capable of providing up to 10 hours of battery life, with support for fast charging. The laptop shares the same audio enhancements and connectivity options as the Chromebook Plus.

The HP Chromebook Plus is priced starting at $499, while the Chromebook Plus x360 starts at $699. Both models will be available for purchase in the US starting from October 8th.
